Bernedoodle: The Gentle Giant with a Teddy Bear Soul

The Bernedoodle was intentionally created in the early 2000s to solve a specific heartbreak: the notoriously short lifespan of the Bernese Mountain Dog.

By crossing the loyal, "tri-colour" mountain dog with the highly intelligent Poodle, breeders successfully produced a companion that retains the soulful, "velcro" personality of the Bernese but with significantly improved hybrid vigour.

This crossbreeding not only extended the dog's life expectancy by several years but also introduced a hypoallergenic, low-shedding coat, making the majestic look of a mountain dog finally practical for modern, indoor living.

Bernedoodles are known for being calm, affectionate, and deeply loyal. They form strong bonds with their families and love being close to their people. Even in larger sizes, they’re typically gentle and patient, making them great with kids and family environments.
